Wonderful Lace agate sphere on a custom wooden stand.

Lace Agate is a variety of chalcedony, which is a microcrystalline form of quartz. It is formed in cavities or fissures of volcanic rocks, where mineral-rich water seeps in and slowly deposits layers of silica over time. The intricate banding patterns in Lace Agate are a result of the different mineral impurities present during its formation.
