花瓶 - 孔雀羽色 Matsuyama Gaei I (1916-1963) - 日本 - 孔雀羽毛颜色

A lidded vase featuring a pattern reminiscent of peacock feathers. This piece is distinguished by its beautiful emerald-green hue and crystalline patterns. The history of "Kujaku-yaki" (Peacock Ware) dates back to 1947. It began when the first-generation artist, Masaei Matsuyama (1916–1963)—who had traveled to mainland China following the outbreak of the Second Sino-Japanese War—returned to Japan, built a kiln in Tominaga, Tatsuno-cho, Hyogo Prefecture, and started producing pottery under the name "Tatsuno-yaki." The artist is Masaei Matsuyama. As there are now very few artisans producing Kujaku-yaki, this piece is considered extremely rare. The coloration and crystalline patterns are created through *yohen* (kiln transmutation) during the firing process, giving each piece a unique character. It is a one-of-a-kind item featuring a truly special pattern. Comes with a signed wooden storage box (*tomobako*) and a certificate of provenance. Dimensions: Height 17 cm, Width 16 cm, Weight 1,100 g
