Authentic wooden ancestor figure from the DOGON tribe, Mali. These Dogon figurines are primarily associated with ancestor worship. In addition to being used by individuals or families, they are also worshipped collectively by the villagers of the Dogon. Perhaps due to years of exposure to the elements, its original form has gradually eroded, resulting in a unique shape that seems to melt into the surrounding space.
