Zenith Defy Automatic Lady – Blue Dial – Original Gay Frères Bracelet – 1970s
Offered for auction is a beautiful and increasingly collectible Zenith Defy Automatic Lady from the 1970s, featuring the iconic faceted Defy case, a striking blue dial, and its original Gay Frères stainless steel bracelet.
The watch is powered by the respected Zenith Caliber 2572 PC automatic movement, a Swiss-made 25-jewel movement from one of Zenith’s most celebrated periods of production.
The watch has been tested and is currently running well and keeping accurate time. However, as the service history is unknown, a complete service is recommended to ensure long-term reliability and proper lubrication of the movement.
The stainless steel case measures approximately 29 mm without the crown, 36 mm lug-to-lug, and approximately 12 mm thick.
The watch retains its original Gay Frères bracelet, a highly desirable feature for collectors of vintage Zenith watches. The fitted crown is an aftermarket replacement; however, the watch will be delivered together with the original Zenith threaded crown tube, allowing installation of a correct screw-down crown if desired.
Cosmetically, the watch shows honest signs of age and wear consistent with over 50 years of use. The dial has developed an attractive vintage character, while the case and crystal display scratches and marks from normal wear.
