Lithograph "Utatane" (Napping) - Takehisa Yumeji / 竹久夢二 (1884-1934) - 日本 (没有保留价)

About the Work Technique: Lithograph Artist: Takehisa Yumeji / 竹久夢二 (1884-1934) Image size: 26.5 x 35.5 cm Overall size(include paper mat): 29.5 x 38 cm Edition number: 206/250 Origin: Japan Description: This lithograph depicts a woman in a patterned kimono dozing beside a closed book, with her head and arms resting on a kotatsu, a traditional Japanese low table covered with a heavy blanket, set with a large orange pattern. She wears a black kimono with geometric and striped motifs in green, orange, and white. The edition number “206/250” is written in pencil in the lower left corner, while the lower right bears a plate-signed signature and a red seal. Tape marks, discoloration, and small age-related stains are visible along the top and bottom margins of the paper, indicating previous mounting. Condition: Good condition overall. There are no visible tears or restorations. The sheet shows age-related toning, discoloration, and small stains, mainly in the margins and background areas. Tape marks are visible on the upper and lower margins, and there may also be traces of previous mounting. There are minor handling marks and light surface soiling consistent with age. The printed image area remains generally well preserved. Artist Profile: Takehisa Yumeji (1884-1934) was a Japanese poet and painter active during the Taisho and early Showa periods. He is known for his “Yumeji-shiki bijin” (Yumeji-style beauties), graceful women with slender figures and melancholy expressions. Without formal training under a specific master, he developed a self-taught style that gained wide popularity and bridged fine art and commercial illustration. This lithograph is a later edition, as indicated by the numbering “206/250”. Additional Notes Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the item description.
