Yamanaka Shikanosuke was a formidable general of the Sengoku period, renowned for his unwavering loyalty to the Amago clan. He is celebrated in Japanese history for his tragic yet heroic struggle to restore his fallen lord’s house after the clan was defeated by the Mori family. He is perhaps best known for his famous prayer to the crescent moon: "Grant me seven hardships and eight sufferings," symbolizing his dedication to overcoming any trial for the sake of his cause. This sculpture captures the spirit of that indomitable samurai.

The piece is in Very Good condition.
Please note that as a vintage item, there are minor signs of wear consistent with age,
