Description: An impressive, heavily cast, ethnic silver rigid wrist cuff (Kada), centred on an integrated cylindrical amulet box (Tabiz or Taweez). The central protective talismanic barrel is meticulously decorated with native repoussé and rawa (granulation) work, featuring stylised cross-hatch basketweave borders and geometric bands. Surmounting the cylinder is a prominent row of seven stylised knob finials, iconographically representing the Sat Matrikas (Seven Mother Goddesses) common in regional folk magic. Flanking either side of the amulet box are two sculpted bird figures, possibly representing peacocks or protective deities, transitioning seamlessly into a thick, solid-drawn tubular penannular hoop. The reverse terminates in a traditional interlinked loop and hook closure flanked by tight wire-wrapped binding details.
Condition report: Excellent ethnographic condition, showing an uncleaned, deep-toning historic patina. Mild surface wear and softening to the stampings are consistent with authentic ritual wear and age. The clasp mechanism remains fully functional
