The riders are dressed in long, flowing robes richly coated in iron-red pigment, now attractively worn and softened by burial. Their distinctive soft caps fall down the back of the head, framing faces of striking individuality. The hands are positioned forward, originally intended to hold reins, reinforcing the sense of controlled movement and authority. The horses are sensitively rendered with gently arched necks, alert expressions, and firmly planted legs, standing on integral rectangular bases.
