Title: Pair of Chinese Doucai Miniature Vases, ca. 1900 Description: An original, matching pair of miniature porcelain vases (garlic-mouth shape). Late Qing Dynasty / Early Republic period (ca. 1900–1920). Technique & Decoration: Hand-painted underglaze blue outlines filled with vibrant overglaze enamels (Doucai 斗彩 technique). The decoration depicts stylized lotus blossoms with intertwining scrolling foliage. Markings: The base of each vase features a hand-applied, four-character apocryphal "Kangxi Nian Zhi" (康熙年製) mark in iron-red seal script (zhuanshu). Base & Glaze: Unglazed footrims showing natural age and minor kiln grit. The recessed base features a characteristic slightly bluish-green tinted glaze.
