传说中的祖先形象,骑在 Casuaris 鸟 Sentani 上 - Sentani - 西巴布亚 (没有保留价)

A finely carved wooden figure from the Sentani people of Lake Sentani, West Papua, depicting an ancestral spirit riding the back of a cassowary (kasuaris), the large flightless bird revered throughout New Guinea as a potent spiritual and clan totem. The figure is rendered in the distinctive Sentani sculptural idiom — an elongated torso, columnar limbs, and a stylized head — mounted directly astride the bird, whose body is reduced to essential, elegant lines typical of Sentani abstraction. Traces of the fine incised spiral and curvilinear motifs (ohomo) characteristic of Sentani woodcarving may be visible on the surface [describe if present: body, base, or bird’s plumage]. The wood shows an old, weathered patina consistent with age and genuine village use — [insert specifics: smoke darkening, insect trails, worn high points, old cracks/splits, weathering to exposed grain]. Reportedly field collected in the 1990s [add collector name/expedition/village if known], at a time when such objects were still being acquired directly from Sentani communities around the lake.
