Large Hand Painted Tryavna Icon of the Holy Mother of God Hodegetria - Guide. This is one of the most revered icons of the Mother of God. The icon is painted entirely by hand, on wood. In the Orthodox tradition, it is believed that prayers before this image bring comfort, strength and protection to the family and home. In person, the icon is impressively beautiful. Egg tempera and gold leaf were used in the painting, observing all church canons. The icon has dimensions: 40 x 32 x 3 cm.
