History
The Omega De Ville line originally began as a collection within the Seamaster family before becoming its own independent model line in 1967. Known for elegant, streamlined designs and reliable automatic movements, the De Ville appealed to those seeking a refined dress watch with everyday practicality. The front-loading unishell case design was a notable engineering choice of the era, offering a sleek profile while securing the movement from the front. This specific example from 1979, complete with its presentation engraving, reflects the widespread appeal of Omega as a premium corporate gift in the Japanese market during the late Showa period.
