Group of Three Late Roman to Early Byzantine Bronze Rings with Vacant Bezels – 4th to 7th Century AD

A group of three cast-bronze finger rings attributed typologically to the Late Roman–Early Byzantine period. The largest example has a substantial angular hoop expanding into a broad, multi-sided circular bezel, probably intended to hold an engraved stone, glass insert or decorative inlay, now missing. The two smaller rings feature thick rounded hoops and raised circular collets with open settings, likewise preserving no original inserts. Their robust construction, integrated bezels and simplified provincial workmanship are consistent with personal ornaments produced across the eastern Mediterranean and neighbouring Byzantine territories during Late Antiquity. The group displays varied brown, grey and green patination, mineral deposits, surface wear and losses around the settings.
