Elegant terracotta decorative plate created in the 20th century, inspired by the famous vase production of Ancient Greece, particularly the iconic Attic black-figure ceramics that made Athens the leading artistic center of the Mediterranean between the 6th and 5th centuries BCE.

Composition depicts two hoplite warriors marching, equipped with large circular decorative shields, spears and crested helmets. The scene recalls the military representations that adorned kylix, plates and amphorae of the archaic era, symbolizing discipline, courage and belonging to the polis. The details are executed with philological taste, respecting proportions, graphic language and the bi-chromy typical of ancient Greek ceramics.

The peripheral band is enriched by a refined geometric zig-zag pattern, while the warm terracotta background creates a pleasant contrast with the black figures, giving the whole piece great elegance and a strong scenographic impact. On the back is the original hook that allows immediate wall display.

Made of turned terracotta and hand-painted, the plate presents a pleasant patina and light signs of time that attest to its use and enhance its charm. There are some slight chips along the edge and modest surface marks, perfectly consistent with the object's age and not visually invasive.
