The figure is produced in a compact mould-made form and seated upon an integral base or simplified throne. The deity is shown holding and supporting a small child figure upon the lap, with the raised outline of the infant and the supporting hand preserved in the modelling. This imagery is consistent with the nurturing and protective aspects of Renenutet, the ancient Egyptian serpent goddess associated with nourishment, fertility, protection of children, and maternal care.

The statuette is coated with a thin copper-bearing glaze, producing a striking turquoise-green surface with areas of deeper blue colouration. The glaze preserves a varied and natural appearance, including areas of intensified colour and small firing irregularities consistent with ancient glazed ceramic production. Minor wear and glaze loss are present on raised areas of the front, while the reverse displays more uneven, patchy glaze coverage with sections of the underlying clay body exposed.

The absence of a suspension loop indicates that this was not intended as a wearable amulet, but rather as a devotional or votive image, likely produced for personal or religious use.

Serpent-headed female deities associated with protection and nourishment were an important part of Egyptian religious imagery. Renenutet was particularly connected with fertility, harvests, newborn protection, and the nourishing powers of motherhood. She was sometimes depicted as a woman with the head of a cobra, nursing or protecting a child.

Comparable serpent-headed maternal figures are preserved within major museum collections, demonstrating the established use of this iconography during the later periods of Ancient Egyptian history.
