This issue belongs to the historic "Old Coinage" era (1864-1938) and represents the final 19th-century silver series struck for the small Republic. Struck at the Royal Mint in Rome (mint mark R) with a total mintage of 40,000 pieces, it was designed by the renowned chief engraver Filippo Speranza. While listed as common (C) in standard circulated grades, finding a specimen in pristine Uncirculated condition remains highly desirable for collectors.
