Four pewter items as follows: Vintage French pewter bowl with its’ original basket and hand signed. This item is known as a "Haricot de Pharmacie" referring to the bowl shape and is stamped 98% pewter, hand made and signed by Vincent Garnier of Paris. The Art Nouveau influence in the design is very evident although this item is considered to be from a later date. Vincent Garnier is a well-known Parisian artisan and master metalworker recognised for high-end, limited-edition pewter craft, historical reproductions, and specialised medical/pharmaceutical art objects (frequently commissioned by laboratories like Oberlin). The bowl measures 19 x 8 x 5cm (7.48" x 3.14" x 1.97"). A pewter jar of French origin, the 95% refers to the tin content and is considered high quality pewter, there is also the makers mark or touch mark and 'ETAIN FAIT MAIN' meaning handmade pewter, this jar measures 19 x 9cm (7.5" x 3.5"). The touchmark featuring a castle/tower design alongside the initials J & G identifies the maker as Jean Goardère, a renowned French pewter workshop (Étains Jean Goardère) and dates this as a vintage piece, late 20th century but in an older, traditional style. A second unmarked jar measuring 14 x 9cm (5.5" x 3.5"), likely also of French origin, it would have been used as pantry jars for storing dry goods (such as tea or spices) or as lidded apothecary container, dating from the 19th century. A vintage pharmaceutical and cosmetic storage jar or canister of French origin with a raised medallion on the front featuring the letters "EXT. CERE.", which is an apothecary abbreviation for Extractum Cerae (wax extract) or a specific traditional medical/cosmetic ointment base. Historically, such lidded pewter containers were used in apothecaries, pharmacies, or high-end households to store specialised salves, ointments, cosmetic creams, or medicinal extracts safely away from light and air. Jars of this type were typically produced circa 1900–1950.The touchmark on the base features a traditional crowned rose/symbol hallmark. While the exact individual workshop is difficult to pinpoint, the mark follows traditional quality signifiers used historically to denote fine metal composition. The jar measures 26 x 10.5cm (10.24" x 4.13").
