卖家的描述
DESCRIPTION:
This natural Tanzanite crystal from the Merelani Hills presents a beautifully unified lavender violet colouration distributed throughout the entire specimen. Unlike strongly zoned or bicolour examples, its visual identity is defined by a single coherent chromatic field, giving the crystal a calm, refined and immediately recognisable appearance.
The colour combines soft blue violet with delicate lavender undertones, remaining consistent across the principal crystal body. Under stronger illumination, the lighter areas become more luminous and reveal a cooler lilac expression, while sections of greater thickness retain a deeper violet presence. These tonal variations result from light transmission and crystal orientation rather than separate colour zones.
Its morphology is robust and architectural, composed of broad natural faces and vertically developed growth surfaces. The crystal retains a strong prismatic character, with subtle longitudinal structures extending through several exterior areas and reinforcing the natural direction of growth.
Transparency ranges from translucent to locally highly translucent. Light penetrates the crystal body and reveals a complex network of internal growth textures, fine natural inclusions and subtle structural layers. These features create depth and confirm the specimen’s entirely natural formation while allowing the lavender violet colour to remain clearly visible.
The lustre is vitreous across the more reflective surfaces, producing bright highlights that contrast attractively with the softer internal diffusion of light. When illuminated from below or behind, the entire crystal becomes considerably brighter, intensifying into a luminous pastel violet with delicate blue undertones.
Originating from Merelani Hills, Block D, Tanzania, the only commercial source of Tanzanite in the world, this specimen combines uniform colour, substantial crystal form and authentic geological character. Its gentle yet distinctive lavender violet tone creates an elegant collector specimen with a strong and unmistakable Tanzanite identity.

• Weight in carats: 6.50 ct
• Dimensions: 12 × 9 × 7 mm
• Origin: Merelani Hills, Block D, Tanzania
• Mineral species: Zoisite
• Variety: Tanzanite
• Crystal system: Orthorhombic
• Form: Natural single crystal
• Crystal habit: Robust prismatic crystal
• Colour: Uniform lavender violet with soft blue undertones
• Colour distribution: Consistent throughout the crystal body
• Transparency: Translucent to locally highly translucent
• Lustre: Vitreous
• Surface features: Natural growth faces and vertical structural features
• Internal features: Natural inclusions and crystallisation textures
• Treatment: None
• Condition: Natural, unpolished crystal
NOTABLE POINTS:
• Unified lavender violet colouration
The specimen displays one coherent colour throughout the crystal without contrasting colour zones.
• Elegant blue violet undertones
Subtle cooler tones become more visible under stronger illumination.
• Consistent colour distribution
The lavender violet identity remains clearly recognisable from every principal viewing angle.
• Strong natural crystal architecture
Broad faces and a robust prismatic structure give the specimen substantial visual presence.
• Attractive transmitted light response
Backlighting significantly increases luminosity and reveals a brighter pastel violet expression.
• Natural vertical growth structures
Fine directional features preserve visible evidence of the crystal’s geological development.
• Vitreous reflective lustre
The more exposed crystal surfaces produce bright and attractive reflections.
• Complex internal texture
Natural inclusions and growth layers create depth within the translucent crystal body.
• Untreated natural specimen
Its colour, structure and internal characteristics remain entirely natural.
• Merelani Hills, Block D provenance
Originating from the world’s only commercial Tanzanite deposit and one of its most recognised mining blocks.
COLLECTOR’S INTEREST:
Tanzanite crystals with a clearly unified lavender violet colour possess a distinct elegance, particularly when the colour remains consistent throughout a substantial natural crystal form.
The combination of Block D provenance, robust morphology and luminous pastel colour makes this specimen attractive to collectors of natural Tanzanite, East African minerals and untreated zoisite crystals.
LAPIDARY POTENTIAL:
Certain translucent areas may invite selective lapidary evaluation, particularly where light transmission is strongest.
However, the specimen’s primary appeal lies in its natural prismatic form, uniform lavender violet colour and preserved growth architecture. Keeping it intact retains its complete mineralogical character and Block D collector identity.

Shipping and Handling:
All orders are shipped by Portuguese National Post and UPS
• Dispatch time: within 1 to 3 business days after payment confirmation to Catawiki
• Transit time service: between 2 to 5 business days within europe and worldwide, depending on destination national post.
• A tracking number is always provided
Photography and transparency:
All photographs are taken under controlled lighting conditions using a macro lens, carefully selected to present each specimen as accurately as possible.
No filters, colour enhancement, or artificial saturation are applied.
The lighting setup uses a calibrated 5500K light source, replicating neutral daylight to reveal natural tones, surface features, and internal characteristics. Under warmer or weaker indoor lighting, colours may appear slightly different, which is normal.
The purpose of this photographic process is documentation and representation, not visual enhancement. Images are intended to reflect the specimen faithfully as it appears under balanced natural light conditions.
Identification and ethics:
All specimens offered are natural and described to the best of our knowledge, based on direct sourcing, professional experience, and information provided by trusted suppliers working at the origin.
Every effort is made to ensure transparency and accuracy regarding identification, locality, and general characteristics, avoiding misleading statements about treatment, provenance, or nature.
Customs and import taxes:
Any customs duties, import fees, or local taxes applied by the destination country are entirely the responsibility of the winning bidder.
These charges are not included in the auction price or shipping cost and are determined by the buyer’s local authorities.
Guarantee and resolution:
Customer satisfaction is important. In the unlikely event of an issue such as loss, damage, or discrepancy, please contact us promptly through Catawiki’s messaging system.
Each case is handled individually and fairly, with appropriate solutions offered when justified.
Appreciation and commitment:
We sincerely thank you for your trust. Our work focuses on careful selection, accurate representation, and respectful presentation of mineral specimens with character and interest.
Each piece is chosen for its individual qualities rather than speculative or financial considerations. We aim to provide a transparent, reliable, and consistent experience for collectors at all levels.
