Elegant Silver Guilloché Enamel Compact – 800 Silver – attr. Germany/Austria – circa 1920

An elegant antique powder compact ( no mirror ) crafted in solid 800 silver, dating to the first quarter of the 20th century.

The lid is decorated with a finely executed guilloché enamel medallion in translucent olive-green enamel over an engine-turned silver ground, surrounded by a white enamel border with stylised green foliage and red geometric accents. The hammered silver exterior gives the piece a refined Arts & Crafts character, while the interior retains its original gilded finish on the lid.

The compact is hallmarked 800 on the rim. Additional maker's marks are present inside but are no longer sufficiently legible for positive identification. Based on the style and hallmarks, the piece was most likely produced in Germany or Austria around 1920–1930.

The compact remains in good antique condition. The gilding shows expected wear from age and use, there is minor surface wear, and the white enamel border has a few tiny losses. The central guilloché enamel medallion well preserved and remains the focal point of the piece.
