History
The Omega Constellation was introduced in 1952 as the brand's flagship chronometer, designed to showcase Omega's highest standards of precision and craftsmanship. By the 1970s, the collection evolved to embrace the bold, geometric design language of the era, moving away from traditional round cases toward distinctive cushion, square, and integrated shapes. Despite these aesthetic shifts, the Constellation maintained its commitment to chronometer-certified accuracy and premium finishing, symbolized by the iconic Geneva Observatory medallion on the caseback. These 1970s models represent a fascinating period of transition in watch design and remain highly regarded by enthusiasts of mid-century horology.
