Description: A set of Japanese lacquered ceremonial sake vessels comprising three graduated vermilion cups (mitsugasane sakazuki) and a square, footed display stand (kagetsudai) finished in dark lacquer. The interior of each cup is coated in bright vermilion lacquer and decorated with detailed gold and polychrome maki-e depicting three of the Seven Lucky Gods: Daikokuten on the largest cup, Benzaiten on the medium cup, and Hotei on the smallest cup. The elevated stand features a rich dark lacquer surface adorned with scattered auspicious treasure motifs (takarazukushi), including sacred keys, scrolls, and treasure bags, bordered by a delicate gold line along the top rim. Three precise slits are cut into the top panel of the stand to securely hold the stepped stems of the cups when stacked or displayed. The set comes with a wooden box (ki-bako) bearing ink calligraphy on the lid and a date inscription corresponding to December 1922 (Taisho 11) on the reverse, where a portion of the text has been covered in black ink.
