Overview An elegant early-1980s Seiko quartz dress watch with a rounded square (cushion) gold-plated case, a white dial with black Roman numerals and a rectangular small-seconds register at 6 o'clock — a classic, clean layout with no date window. Slim and light on the wrist, powered by the quartz calibre 2628. Specifications - Brand: Seiko - Reference: 2628-5000 (dial code 2628-0030; serial no. 001324 — believed October 1980) - Movement: Quartz — calibre 2628, small seconds at 6 o'clock, no date - Case: Gold-plated cushion case with stainless steel case back (marked SGP BACK ST.STEEL); gold-tone crown at 3 o'clock; no water resistance marking - Dial: White with black Roman numerals I–XII - Case diameter: to be confirmed — please see photos for proportions (slim dress size) - Strap: Black leather strap with gold-tone pin buckle — heavily deteriorated (surface cracking, backing peeling), replacement recommended; approx. 17.5 cm wrist size as pictured - Total weight: approx. 22.9 g Condition In fair condition with major cosmetic signs of wear — sold as-is. The gold plating is worn through at the bezel edge and lug tips, exposing the base metal beneath. There is clear verdigris (green corrosion) around the lugs and strap attachment points. The leather strap is at the end of its life: the surface is cracked and the backing is peeling — please budget for a replacement strap. By contrast, the dial remains largely clean, with one faint stain inside the small-seconds register, and the hands are intact. No major damage is visible on the crystal.
