This beautiful carboniferous fossil matrix shows a best quality!! 3D very rare Callipteridium devillei plant fossil. Magnificent contrast! The matrix is an iron clay stone, so the stone material is volcanic ash that covered the fossils in an instant that time and therefore the plants were preserved perfectly. The stone was found by myself in July 2026 in the district Moselle in France. Found in rest material that came out of the former coal mines in this region. The fossil is between 309 and 302 million years old.
