Set of 3 Vintage Japanese Kitchen Knives – Traditional Wa-Bocho – Signed Blade – Wooden Handles – Restoration / Maintenance Project – Japan
Item Description
A distinctive set of three vintage Japanese kitchen knives (Wa-bocho) with traditional wooden handles, displaying the character and patina acquired through many years of use.
The set consists of three different blade profiles, ranging from a long, slender knife to broader all-purpose style blades. One of the blades bears a clearly visible Japanese engraved inscription (mei). One handle also retains part of an old original label, adding to the authentic vintage appearance of the set. The maker has not been conclusively identified, so please refer to the detailed photographs for the inscription and remaining label.
These are genuine vintage used utensils and show considerable signs of age and previous use. The steel blades have oxidation, rust spots, patina, discoloration, scratches, sharpening marks, stains and surface wear. The wooden handles and ferrules also show scratches, discoloration, wear and other age-related deterioration. These characteristics have been intentionally left visible rather than heavily restored.
Due to their vintage condition, this set is particularly suitable for collectors and enthusiasts who enjoy sharpening, cleaning, maintaining or restoring traditional Japanese knives. Cleaning, rust treatment, sharpening and other maintenance may be required before practical use. The current sharpness and suitability for immediate kitchen use are not guaranteed.
Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description and accurately show the current condition.
