Early Wakefield “Castrollo” rectangular one-quart tin for upper cylinder lubricant, finished in distinctive green with red and black period typography. The reverse carries detailed advertising for Wakefield Patent Castrol engine oils and identifies C. C. Wakefield & Co. Ltd., Wakefield House, Cheapside, London. Retains its unusual raised threaded pouring neck and measuring-cap assembly. Considerable age-related surface rust, oxidation, paint loss and wear throughout, giving the piece an authentic industrial patina while much of the original graphics remain legible.
