Confalonieri UCG Modular Wall Coat Rack – Italy, 1970s Vintage modular wall-mounted coat rack manufactured in Italy by Confalonieri UCG, most probably during the 1970s. The design is generally attributed to renowned Italian architect and industrial designer Carlo Bartoli, who created a number of functional furnishing accessories, coat hooks and wall-mounted systems for Confalonieri. The attribution is consistent with documented Confalonieri UCG hooks of the same sculptural form, although the original catalogue reference for this precise configuration has not been identified. The rack consists of a long rectangular support fitted with four removable double hooks. Each hook can be extracted and repositioned along the supporting structure, allowing the composition to be adapted according to practical needs and personal preference. The curved hooks provide two hanging levels: a larger upper support for coats, jackets or hats and a smaller lower hook for bags, scarves or accessories. Made from robust shaped metal with a glossy deep-red lacquered finish, the piece has a strong Space Age and modernist appearance, characteristic of progressive Italian interior design from the late 1960s and 1970s. The reverse is clearly marked: UCG CONFALONIERI The original wall-mounting openings remain visible on the reverse. Installation is straightforward and requires only two screws (not included).
