Nishijinori 京都 日本的自然之山 - 真丝 - 日本 - Heisei period (1989-present)
Kyoto Nishijin Hattori Textiles, a famous product in Kyoto, is a long-established Kyoto Nishijin weaving company that's been around for over 200 years.
The design is woven using motifs of distant mountains and trees, reflecting the beautiful natural scenery of Japan.
Hattori Orimono, amid the wave of mechanization, continues to focus solely on hand-weaving even today, weaving the life of silk and aiming for the pinnacle of obi craftsmanship. The authentic brand "Handwoven Kohaku Nishiki" is what represents this. The 'hikibako' technique, used extensively in this handwoven Kohaku Nishiki, is the ultimate in meticulous craftsmanship. This technique involves weaving in strips of Japanese paper with gold, silver, or platinum foil pressed onto them, one by one, and it's a hallmark of Nishijin weaving, known for its vibrant patterns. For complex designs, sometimes only a few dozen centimeters can be woven per day.
In Nishijin weaving, it’s common to use about 3,500 warp threads, but at Hattori Orimono, they use around 6,000 threads to add depth to the designs. To prevent the obi from becoming too heavy with so many threads, they carefully select fine, strong yarns.
