This painting presents a forest landscape of extraordinary vitality, in which vegetation unfolds around a tranquil water surface. The scene conveys the feeling of discovering a secluded corner, hidden among trees and wild plants, where nature preserves all its strength. From the first moment, the eye is drawn by the abundance of greens, the depth of the shadows and the glints of light appearing among the branches.

The pond occupies the central and lower area of the composition and acts as an irregular mirror that reflects the colors of the surroundings. Its surface combines dark greens, grays, bluish tones and small yellow reflections, suggesting calm water barely disturbed by movement. The reflections do not reproduce the trees and plants exactly, but transform them into undulating shapes, adding mystery and rich visual depth.

On the banks, dense vegetation accumulates, formed by grasses, shrubs, small plants and branches that seem to grow freely. Light yellow and pale greens illuminate certain points, while browns, violets and deep greens define the wetter and shadier zones. This chromatic diversity allows perception of the richness of the terrain and makes every corner of the scene a small discovery.

The trees rise powerfully on different planes and structure the entire composition through their vertical trunks and interlaced branches. The right side gathers a greater concentration of trees, branches and foliage. The dark greens and near-black tones intensify the sense of thickness, as if the forest continued beyond what is visible. Amid the shadows, small accents of yellow and bright greens emerge, reminiscent of sunlit leaves. These glints prevent the darkness from becoming uniform and give movement to the vegetation.

The sky appears partially obscured by the treetops and is represented with whites, soft grays, bluish tones and light greenish hues. Its presence adds air to the scene and allows imagining a day of variable light, perhaps after rain or on a cool morning. The humid atmosphere seems to envelop the whole landscape and soften the boundaries between water, plants and horizon.

Light plays an essential role in building the atmosphere. It does not arrive uniformly, but filters through the branches and reaches only certain areas of the forest.
