卖家的描述

Wächtersbach Ceramic Bread Box – Near mint condition– Germany, c. 1920 - Designed by Eduard Schweitzer - No Reserve

A rare and highly decorative large Wächtersbach Keramik bread box (Brotkasten) combining a curved ceramic body with an original warm-toned wooden frame.

The Brotkast was originally developed by renowned designer Eduard Schweitzer. The minimalist, striking geometric dark blue vertical line-and-dot motif (Decor 2345) was produced under the artistic direction of Christian Neureuther, who headed Wächtersbach’s specialized modern art department (Künstler-Abteilung).

The striking blue-and-white geometric Decor 2345 gives this piece a distinctly modernist character, bridging late Jugendstil and early Art Déco.
The curved ceramic body is perfectly encased in its original, warm-toned hardwood protective frame, held together with authentic solid brass flathead screws and a matching brass lid handle. The underside features a complete set of highly crisp, deeply impressed factory hallmarks and stamps.

The underside retains its original factory markings, including Decor 2345, D.R.G.M. Sch. No. 772331, impressed model markings and the Wächtersbach factory symbol.
