Artadi La Poza de Ballesteros is a red wine made with Tempranillo grapes from a 3.6-hectare vineyard, planted in 1960 in the town of Elvillar. It is located at an altitude of 600 meters on silty-clay soils. The grapes are hand-harvested in 15 kg crates and selected in the vineyard itself. At the winery, the grapes undergo cold maceration for 24-48 hours before fermentation with native yeasts in open wooden vats for 10-12 days, with daily punch-downs and occasional pump-overs. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels, where the wine remains for 12 months.
