Vintage ANKRA Nautic men's watch, Automatic ETA 2472 – Vintage Diver – Rare German Brand. ANKRA was a German watch brand whose name comes from the initials of Anton Knauer Ravensburg, the company behind the brand. During the 1960s and 1970s, ANKRA produced quality mechanical watches using proven Swiss movements, making them an interesting choice today for collectors of vintage German watches. The watch features: Original black dial with attractive vintage patina. Automatic ETA 2472 movement (25 jewels). The dial is marked "ETA 2472" at the bottom, which is a relatively uncommon detail. Date indicator, that can be set by changing the time beetwen 20:30 and 24h. The bezel is fixed (non-rotating), it is stuck or seized in the position shown. Acrylic crystal with light scratches consistent with age. Stainless steel case. New NATO strap. 37 mm in diameter without crown. The movement is clean and the watch is in good overall vintage condition. The case shows normal signs of wear from decades of use, as expected for a watch of this age. The case back is unengraved. The watch has not been tested for water resistance, so I recommend treating it as a collector's piece rather than a diving watch.
