His practice is rooted in a longstanding fascination with the fantastic and the psychological worlds it can evoke. Beginning with drawing and gradually moving into painting, Le Falher has developed a distinctive visual language in which reality is subtly unsettled, giving form to imagined spaces that exist somewhere between the familiar and the otherworldly. At the centre of his work is the human body. Rendered with an academic sensitivity and informed by a deep understanding of classical figuration, the body is often altered, stretched or distorted, becoming a vessel through which more intangible states can be expressed. Le Falher’s paintings explore the experience of inner blockage, the difficulty of being, and the sensation of confinement within oneself. His figures appear caught between physical presence and psychological tension, their bodies carrying a quiet sense of unease, vulnerability and introspection. His visual vocabulary emerges from a dialogue between classical and contemporary influences.
