A striking pair of vintage 1930s lounge armchairs featuring a vibrant, glossy red lacquered finish. Crafted from hand-woven natural wicker and rattan, the design features elegant Chinoiserie-inspired elements, including openwork armrests with a contrasting black grid cross-weave. The structural base is composed of robust black cylindrical legs reinforced with wrapped bent-bamboo intersecting stretchers for excellent stability. Combining a bohemian botanical aesthetic with a bold Hollywood Regency flair, this set makes a dramatic sculptural statement for a conservatory, covered terrace, or eclectic interior. Showing minor wear consistent with age and use.
