Inspired by the iconic poster of Alien, the artwork reinterprets its minimalist composition through a deliberately pixelated image. Each pixel follows the exact proportions of a Super 8 film frame, creating a geometric structure that shifts between abstraction and representation depending on the viewer's distance. At the center of the composition, the famous egg is no longer simply depicted—it is physically constructed from genuine Super 8 film frames taken from Alien. Carefully assembled and backlit, these original fragments transform the egg into a luminous object containing the very images from which it was created. This intervention turns one of science fiction's most recognizable symbols into a sculptural object where cinema itself becomes the artistic medium. Traditionally associated with family memories and amateur filmmaking, Super 8 film is reimagined here as a material for contemporary pop art. By combining digital pixelation with authentic analog film, Alien Egg Super 8 continues the exploration of Analog Digital Cooperation, questioning how different image technologies coexist, enrich one another, and collectively shape our visual memory. Today, I explore the relationship between analog and digital through pop-style works, bringing film frames and pixels together in compositions that pay tribute to cinema—allowing celluloid to meet the light one last time. •Pixel Project 8 Pixel Project 8 expands the research initiated with Analog Digital Cooperation by exploring the relationship between digital imagery and Super 8 film, the iconic format of home cinema. Each artwork is built on a digital grid in which every pixel matches the exact dimensions of a Super 8 film frame (8 × 4 mm). This structure transforms the image into a geometric mosaic, where the digital pixel becomes the contemporary counterpart of the analog film frame. Within this grid, selected pixels are replaced with genuine Super 8 film frames taken from the represented movie. Backlit, these authentic fragments become luminous points that reintroduce the physical material of cinema into a digitally constructed image. Unlike 35 mm film, traditionally associated with movie theaters, Super 8 carries a more intimate history. It is the medium of home movies, personal memories and amateur filmmaking. Long before VHS tapes, DVDs or digital video, Super 8 preserved everyday life on film. Its grain, colors and imperfections have since become symbols of a shared visual memory. Through Pixel Project 8, this domestic medium leaves the projector and enters the space of contemporary art. Film is no longer simply a carrier of moving images; it becomes a sculptural, luminous and tactile material. Like the other works in the Analog Digital Cooperation corpus, each piece transforms according to the viewer's position. Up close, it dissolves into an abstract composition of colorful geometric forms. From a distance, these fragments gradually merge into a recognizable image. This shift in perception reminds us that every image—whether chemical or digital—is ultimately a constructed reality. Pixel Project 8 celebrates the encounter between two generations of moving images: the intimate world of analog home cinema and today's digital visual culture, brought together in artworks where memory, light and technology coexist.
