卖家的描述
Item Description
This elegant Japanese bronze vase (bronze) features a striking octagonal body that tapers into a slender, elongated neck — a classic bottle-vase silhouette rendered in a faceted, jewel-like form. The surface is finished in a rich, mottled blue-green patina with dappled gold/bronze speckling throughout, giving the piece a shimmering, textured quality reminiscent of oxidized metal or a night sky dusted with gold. The octagonal foot and shoulders lend a modern, geometric structure to an otherwise traditional Japanese metalwork form.
The piece is signed on its accompanying wooden storage box (kiribako) as the work of Hōun, a name associated with cast bronze vases produced within the Takaoka bronzeware tradition — one of Japan's most celebrated centers for metal casting, active for centuries. The vase comes complete with its original fitted wooden box, inscribed with the characters for "cast bronze" and "vase" alongside the maker's signature and a red seal.
A refined decorative object suited to display on its own or as a striking flower vessel, this piece would make a handsome addition to any collection of Japanese metalwork or Asian decorative arts.
