Seiji Sano (b. 1959, Shizuoka) is a contemporary Japanese woodblock print artist working in Kyoto. He studied under the influential printmaker Masao Ido and specializes in atmospheric landscapes of traditional Japan. His works often depict rural scenes, changing seasons, and characteristic architecture, executed in a refined, slightly impressionistic style. Sano’s prints are exhibited internationally and are held in collections in the United States, including the Library of Congress.
