5-piece set of Rhine liqueur/wine glasses in cut-tooled colored crystal – 19th / early 20th century
Description:
Magnificent set consisting of two complementary series of stem glasses in mass-colored crystal and translucent crystal, work from the 19th century or early 20th century.
The glasses feature a tulip/oval bowl in colored crystal (emerald green and teal/blue-green), enhanced with a ribbed and hollow ribbed pattern. The transparent crystal stem is adorned with an elegant molded button and rests on a circular pontil-rounded foot.
Models & Shapes: Val Saint-Lambert extensively produced stem glasses with flat-cut rims (Venetian cuts or hollow cuts) with this type of double-colored crystal (emerald green, Urialine green, teal/blue-green).
Finishing under the base: The polished and smoothed pontil under the foot (visible in your photos) perfectly matches the finish of Belgian crystal glassware of this era.
No signature: Before 1936, the vast majority of Val Saint-Lambert pieces bore no engraved signature, only a paper label that disappeared with the washings.
Lot composition (5 pieces):
Series 1 (2 emerald green glasses, flared shape):
Height: ~11.9 cm and 12 cm
Bowl diameter: ~6.8 cm and 7.1 cm
Series 2 (3 teal/blue-green / duck-blue glasses, tulip shape):
Height: ~11.4 cm, 11.5 cm and 11.7 cm
Bowl diameter: ~6 cm
Condition:
Minor wear traces under the bases compatible with age (normal wear scratches). No chips or major cracks. Mouth-blown, slight dimensional variations typical of artisanal manufacture.
