A superb historical collector's item: the Half Silver Rider (Half Ducatoon), struck by the Province of West Frisia in the year 1773. The Silver Rider series represented the pinnacle of the Dutch Republic's monetary prestige. While the full Ducatoon was primarily used for large-scale international trade, the Half Rider served as a high-value medium of exchange within both domestic and colonial markets.

This 1773 issue was minted in Enkhuizen. A key feature of this specific year is the 'fishing boat' (haringbuis) mintmaster mark, located at the bottom of the reverse. This mark was used until 1774, after which West Frisian coinage was struck without a mintmaster mark. The coin features the characteristic corded edge (kabelrand), which became the standard from 1759 onwards to prevent clipping.
