Overview A Seiko automatic dress watch with an open-heart aperture at 9 o'clock revealing the balance wheel of the 24-jewel calibre 4R39, and a 24-hour sub-dial between 11 and 12 o'clock. The black dial combines a smooth centre with a wave-pattern guilloché outer ring, silver applied Roman numerals (I–VII) and baton indices, silver dauphine hands and a signed S crown. Signed SEIKO / Automatic / MADE IN JAPAN. Polished stainless steel round case with sapphire crystal and see-through case back showing the SEIKO 4R39A rotor, on a stainless steel five-row bracelet with a SEIKO-signed push-button clasp. The main points to note: a dent/chip on the bezel at about 1–2 o'clock, with brown rust-like dirt in the gap between the bezel and lugs; further brown dirt/dulling on the case around 4–5 o'clock, around the lugs and by the end links; dark dirt around the case back notches. The polished case sides show numerous fine scratches and the brushed surfaces show rubbing; the clasp surface shows fine scratches overall (the SEIKO marking remains clear) and the bracelet links show wear marks with dirt between the links. The sapphire crystal shows no notable scratches or chips. The dial and hands are clean with no discolouration or damage, and the open-heart aperture is clear. A thorough cleaning is recommended.
