An exceptionally well-preserved, large-format silver ducat (3 Gulden) from the United Provinces of the Netherlands. Struck in the province of Utrecht during the final days of the Republic. This historical coin displays beautiful details and a significant amount of original mint luster (within the lettering and details).
Obverse: Crowned coat of arms of the United Netherlands holding the iconic rampant lion, sword, and bundle of arrows. Flanked by the denomination: "3 – G". Legend: MO: ARG: ORD: FOED: BELG: TRAI· (Moneta Argentea Ordinum Foederatarum Belgicarum Traiectum - Silver coin of the States of the United Netherlands, Utrecht).
Reverse: Dutch Maiden (Statue of Liberty/Athena) standing with a lance, topped with a cap of liberty, leaning on the Bible resting on a richly decorated altar. Legend: HANC TVEMVR HAC NITIMVR (This we protect, on this we lean). Tastefully dated 1793 in the exergue.
