A set of twenty-four ancient Scythian bronze arrowheads, dating to approximately 200 BC. The Scythians were masters of mounted archery, and their arrows were a key weapon, striking fear into the ancient world. Each of these arrows was hand-cast and bears the imprint of a great nomadic civilization whose influence stretched from China to the Danube. This collection is more than just a collection of artifacts, but a time capsule reflecting the military history and craft traditions of the Scythian "golden age." Each arrowhead has a rounded socket protruding blades that meet to form a sharp point. The socket was used to attach the wooden shaft of the arrow. Several arrowheads also have serrations.
