Domaine Sylvain Pataille is the story of a bold gamble in the Marsannay vineyards, at the northern tip of the Côte de Nuits. Create d in 1999, the estate started modestly with just 1 hectare of vines, rented by a young oenologist passionate about his work and still unknown... Or almost: before signing his own cuvées, Sylvain Pataille had already built up solid experience as an oenology consultant in Beaune.

From the very beginning, Sylvain Pataille established himself as a staunch defender of forgotten grape varieties, such as Aligoté, and as an ambassador for Pinot Noir on the limestone slopes of the northern Côte de Nuits. In the shadow of prestigious neighbors like Gevrey-Chambertin and Fixin, he worked tirelessly. Two decades later, his venture has become a leading name in the region, with nearly 17 hectares cultivated organically and biodynamically, driven by a quest for authenticity and independence.
