蛇颈龙 - 牙齿化石 - Fossil Tooth of Plesiosaur (没有保留价)
Authentic fossil plesiosaur tooth, featuring the conical and slightly curved shape characteristic of the predatory marine reptiles of the Mesozoic Era. The tooth displays the typical longitudinal striations, clearly visible along the entire crown, and a natural coloration ranging from golden beige to amber-brown, resulting from mineralisation over millions of years.
The tip is sharp and well preserved, while the base displays the natural porosity of the partially exposed root, further attesting to the specimen’s authenticity and palaeontological origin.
Condition: The specimen is entirely natural and has not undergone any restoration, reconstruction or filling. It was treated solely with specialised stabilising products applied in situ before extraction from the ground. This is a standard palaeontological practice used to consolidate the fossil’s structure and prevent crumbling or fracturing during and after recovery, without altering its integrity or original appearance in any way.
Plesiosaurs were predatory marine reptiles that lived during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. They are known for their elongated necks—particularly in plesiosauromorph species—and their conical teeth, which were adapted for catching fish and other marine organisms.
This fossil from the Arte Terra collection is presented on a custom-made solid wood display base, designed to enhance both its aesthetic appeal and scientific value. The front of the base features a laser-engraved naturalistic illustration of the prehistoric animal to which the specimen belongs, reconstructed in its original environment. The “Arte Terra – Fossil Mineral Design” logo appears in the lower-right corner as a mark of authenticity and of the product’s artisanal craftsmanship.
