斑彩螺 - 动物化石 - Beautiful Ammonite Fossil – Display Stand Included - 21 cm

Beautiful large ammonite fossil from Madagascar, professionally cut and polished to reveal its intricate internal structure and exceptionally well-defined suture patterns. The surface displays a remarkable natural network of highly detailed, leaf-like lines, created where the internal chamber walls once met the outer shell. Warm amber, golden-brown, cream and grey tones form an elegant contrast, highlighting the complexity and beauty of this ancient marine specimen. Ammonites were extinct marine cephalopods related to modern squid, octopuses and nautiluses. They inhabited the world’s oceans for millions of years before disappearing during the mass extinction event at the end of the Cretaceous Period, approximately 66 million years ago. The specimen has been carefully polished on the display side to enhance its natural colours and palaeontological features, while preserving the characteristic spiral form. Its impressive dimensions and decorative appearance make it ideal for a fossil collection, refined interior or natural-history display. *The transparent acrylic display stand shown in the photographs is included.
