A Japanese natural stone water basin 自然石 (shizen-seki), formed from a substantial piece of layered stone with attractive green-grey undertones and lighter mineral veining. The irregular exterior has been left largely natural, emphasising the stratified structure and rugged character of the stone. A deep circular basin has been hollowed into the upper surface. Because of its irregular underside, the stone is intended to be partially buried in the ground for stable placement, making it particularly suitable for use as a garden water basin. Dimensions: Width 51 cm, Depth 39 cm, Height 32 cm. In very good condition, with natural irregularities and surface variation inherent to the stone.
