The case features engraved scrolling patterns across the surface, combined with a large raised ornamental centerpiece wrapping around the lower body. At the center is an oval turquoise-colored cabochon with visible darker matrix-like markings. Its material cannot be confirmed from the photos alone. The bright blue color against the aged silver-tone metal is a great combination, and the chunky raised work gives the lighter a very substantial look in the hand. The case shows numerous scratches, rubbing, tarnish, dark patina, and general wear from previous use. Darkening and residue are particularly visible in the recessed areas of the ornament and engraving, while the turquoise-colored cabochon also shows surface marks.
