This specimen displays an extraordinary combination of deep royal blue, violet, purple and vivid magenta to reddish-purple tones. Under transmitted light, the internal colour structure becomes especially spectacular, revealing intense flashes of crimson-magenta surrounded by cooler blue and violet zones. The fluorite consists of numerous strongly intergrown crystals forming a compact, sculptural cluster. Particularly attractive are the sharp geometric edges, stepped growth structures and highly lustrous crystal faces, which interact beautifully with the different colour zones. Some areas appear almost midnight blue in reflected light, while thinner and more transparent sections become brilliant blue-violet. When illuminated from behind, hidden internal zones emerge in purple, pink and intense wine-red/magenta tones, giving the specimen a completely different appearance depending on the direction and intensity of the light. The combination of strong colour zoning, good transparency, high lustre and dramatic crystal architecture gives this specimen exceptional visual depth. Every change of viewing angle reveals different internal layers, reflections and colour transitions. A superb display specimen for an advanced fluorite collection and an excellent example of the intensely coloured material associated with the Yindu mining district.
