卖家的描述
Ancient Roman Bronze Reduced Follis — RIC VII Heraclea 119, likely attribution ca. 4th century C.E.,
Weight: approx. 2.35 g
Diameter: approx. 18 mm
An ancient Roman bronze reduced follis, dating to the Late Roman / Constantinian period and likely attributable to the mint of Heraclea.
The coin corresponds most closely with RIC VII Heraclea 119. Struck in bronze, it represents the reduced follis denomination introduced during the monetary reforms of the early 4th century C.E., when the once-larger follis gradually decreased in both size and weight.
Despite its compact format, the coin retains visible elements of the original imperial portrait and reverse design, together with an attractive aged bronze surface and natural patina consistent with prolonged burial and antiquity.
Coins of this type circulated widely throughout the Roman Empire and formed an important part of everyday monetary exchange during the Constantinian period.
Culture: Ancient Roman
Mint: Heraclea, likely attribution
Reference: RIC VII Heraclea 119
Denomination: Reduced follis
Material: Bronze
Weight: approx. 2.35 g
Diameter: approx. 18 mm
Date: circa early–mid 4th century C.E.
A genuine fragment of the monetary system of the Late Roman Empire, suitable for collectors of Roman coins and ancient history.
