卖家的描述
Striking and elegant decorative display featuring two authentic fossilized Orthoceras specimens from Morocco, artfully mounted together on a custom-sculpted, dark polished wood base.
The composition highlights a large, finely crafted circular limestone plate densely embedded with multiple elongated Orthoceras fossils (Orthoceras sp.), polished to a smooth finish that brings out the deep charcoal and silvery-grey contrast of the stone. Beside it sits a smaller, freeform polished slab containing additional fossilized specimens alongside goniatite/ammonite sections, revealing intricate internal chamber structures and siphuncles.
Orthoceras were prehistoric straight-shelled nautiloid cephalopods that populated ancient marine environments over 400 million years ago during the Ordovician and Silurian periods. As minerals replaced their organic remains over millions of years, their distinctive, chambered conical shells were preserved in rich fossiliferous limestone.
The fossils rest securely on a dynamic, naturalistic root-wood stand with a warm mahogany-toned gloss finish, perfectly balancing organic natural textures with refined craftsmanship.
This unique combination of ancient marine history and artful display makes an extraordinary decorative centerpiece, ideal for a cabinet of curiosities, fossil collection, executive office, or sophisticated interior layout.
