About the Artist: Sachin Deo Sachin Deo trained at the Government Institute of Fine Arts in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and describes himself as a visual artist of some twenty years' standing. His solo exhibition at Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal opened in November 2022. He is known for layered, mixed-media surfaces: rice paper, coloured thread, silver foil and printed elements built up on thin layers of cloth mounted on canvas, with time and transience as the stated theme - past, present and future as overlapping shapes. Artistic vision Deo treats abstraction as layered time: transitory shapes caught in overlapping layers of experience, worked in earth, rust, violet and blue. Acrylic and mixed media are built up in layers on canvas, with incised and threaded lines running through the paint.
